GHaxLabs DayZ External - Complete Setup Guide

Before starting, make sure your system meets these requirements:

Step 1 - Install Prerequisites
If you're on a fresh Windows install, you'll need a few things before the software will run properly.
1.1 - Visual C++ Redistributables
The launcher and the cheat require the latest Visual C++ runtime.
1. Open your web browser
2. Go to https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe (direct download link from Microsoft)
3. Run vc_redist.x64.exe
4. Click Install and wait for it to complete
5. If it says "already installed", you're good - close it
1.2 - DirectX Runtime
The overlay uses DirectX 11. Most Windows 10/11 systems already have this, but if you get D3D11 errors:
1. Download the DirectX End-User Runtime from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
2. Run dxwebsetup.exe
3. Follow the prompts and install
1.3 - .NET Framework 4.8+
Windows 10 (1903+) and Windows 11 ship with .NET 4.8 preinstalled. If for some reason you don't have it:
1. Open Settings > Apps > Optional Features > Add a feature
2. Search for .NET Framework and install it
3. Alternatively download from: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/net48
1.4 - Windows Updates
Make sure Windows is up to date. Driver installation depends on having current system components.
1. Open Settings > Windows Update
2. Click Check for updates
3. Install any pending updates and restart if prompted
Step 2 - Download the GHax Launcher
1. Log into your GHaxLabs account at https://ghaxlabs.root.sx
2. If you don't have an account yet, click Sign Up and verify your email
3. Go to Dashboard and attach your license key (paste the key you purchased and click Attach Key)
4. Once your license is attached, click Download Launcher from the Dashboard or the nav menu
5. Save GHaxLoaderClient.exe to a folder you'll remember (e.g., Desktop or C:\GHax)
Antivirus Note: Your antivirus may flag the launcher. This is normal for software of this type. You may need to:
Step 3 - Activate Your License
1. Right-click GHaxLoaderClient.exe and select Run as Administrator
2. The launcher will open with the GHaxLabs interface showing product cards (DayZ, CS2, Roblox)
3. In the license key field, paste your license key (format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX)
4. Click Login
What happens during activation:
WARNING: Your license is permanently bound to your hardware. If you change your PC or make significant hardware changes, you may need to contact support for a HWID reset.
If activation is successful, you'll see:
Step 4 - Install the Kernel Driver
This is a one-time setup. You only need to do this once (unless you reinstall Windows).
1. In the GHax Launcher, click the Install Driver button
2. A UAC prompt will appear asking for Administrator permission - click Yes
3. A command window will open and run the installation script
4. Wait for it to complete (usually 30-60 seconds)
5. You should see a message confirming the driver service was started
What gets installed:
If the driver doesn't seem to be working after installation, try restarting the launcher or rebooting your PC.
Step 5 - Launch DayZ External
You can launch the cheat before or after DayZ is running. The overlay will wait for DayZ to start if it isn't already open.
Recommended order:
1. Open GHaxLoaderClient.exe as Administrator (if not already open)
2. Make sure you're logged in (license key entered and activated)
3. Start DayZ from Steam normally
4. Wait until you're at the DayZ main menu or in-game
5. In the GHax Launcher, click the PLAY button on the DayZ card
What happens when you click PLAY:
SUCCESS: You should now see the DayZ External overlay on top of your game. If DayZ wasn't running yet, the overlay will show a waiting screen until DayZ starts.
Step 6 - Using the Overlay Menu
6.1 - Opening the Menu
Press INSERT to toggle the in-game menu on/off.
When the menu is open, your mouse cursor becomes visible and you can interact with the settings. When closed, the overlay is transparent and only shows ESP/visual elements.

System Requirements
Before starting, make sure your system meets these requirements:
- OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit only)
- GPU: DirectX 11 compatible graphics card (any modern GPU from the last 10 years)
- RAM: 8GB minimum (16GB recommended - DayZ is memory-hungry)
- Account: Windows Administrator account (required for driver installation)
- Internet: Stable connection (the software maintains a server heartbeat)
- Game: DayZ installed via Steam (any edition - Chernarus, Livonia, and Sakhal all supported)
IMPORTANT: You do NOT need to:
- Enable Windows Test Mode
- Disable Secure Boot
- Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

Step 3 - Activate Your License
1. Right-click GHaxLoaderClient.exe and select Run as Administrator
2. The launcher will open with the GHaxLabs interface showing product cards (DayZ, CS2, Roblox)
3. In the license key field, paste your license key (format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX)
4. Click Login
What happens during activation:
- Your hardware ID is collected and sent to the server
- The server binds your license to your specific PC
- You'll receive confirmation and the product buttons will light up based on what your license includes

If activation is successful, you'll see:
- DayZ button enabled (if your license includes DayZ)
- License status showing Active
- Expiration date displayed
Step 4 - Install the Kernel Driver
This is a one-time setup. You only need to do this once (unless you reinstall Windows).

Step 5 - Launch DayZ External
You can launch the cheat before or after DayZ is running. The overlay will wait for DayZ to start if it isn't already open.
Recommended order:
1. Open GHaxLoaderClient.exe as Administrator (if not already open)
2. Make sure you're logged in (license key entered and activated)
3. Start DayZ from Steam normally
4. Wait until you're at the DayZ main menu or in-game
5. In the GHax Launcher, click the PLAY button on the DayZ card
What happens when you click PLAY:
- The launcher downloads your unique copy of the DayZ cheat from the server
- The cheat launches automatically
- The launcher closes on its own after the cheat starts

Step 6 - Using the Overlay Menu
6.1 - Opening the Menu
Press INSERT to toggle the in-game menu on/off.
When the menu is open, your mouse cursor becomes visible and you can interact with the settings. When closed, the overlay is transparent and only shows ESP/visual elements.
6.2 - Feature Overview
ESP Tab:
- Player ESP - Boxes, names, distance, health bars, skeleton rendering
- Zombie ESP - See infected through walls with distance
- Vehicle ESP - Track cars, trucks, helicopters with type labels
- Item/Loot ESP - See loot through walls, filtered by 12+ categories (Weapons, Ammo, Medical, Food, Clothing, Backpacks, Attachments, Tools, Building Materials, Keys, Electronics, Containers)
- Custom Waypoints - Set markers on the map for navigation
Aimbot Tab:
- Enable/Disable - Master toggle
- FOV - Adjust targeting field of view (how close to crosshair before it locks)
- Smoothing - Makes aim look natural (higher = slower/more legit)
- Target Priority - Closest, lowest health, or nearest to crosshair
- Target Zombies - Toggle whether aimbot locks on infected
- Bone Selection - Head, chest, or closest bone
Misc Tab:
- Streamproof Mode - Hides the overlay from OBS, Discord screen share, and screenshots
- Loot Teleport - Move items to your location
- Crosshair - Custom crosshair overlay
Settings Tab:
- Colors - Customize ESP colors for players, zombies, items
- Save/Load Config - Keep your settings between sessions
- Theme - Dark/light menu themes
6.3 - Map Support
All three DayZ maps are fully supported:
- Chernarus (main map)
- Livonia (DLC map)
- Sakhal (Frostline DLC map)
No additional configuration needed - the cheat auto-detects which map you're on.
Troubleshooting / FAQ
"Integrity check failed" on login
- The launcher has been modified or corrupted
- Re-download the launcher from the GHaxLabs website
- Make sure your antivirus hasn't quarantined or modified the file
"Your license does not include DayZ"
- Your license key may not have the DayZ product enabled
- Check your license details on the Dashboard
- Contact support or purchase a DayZ-enabled license
"Your license is not active" or login fails
- Your license may have expired - check the expiration date on the Dashboard
- Your license may have been revoked - contact support
- Make sure your internet connection is stable
Driver not installing
- Make sure you clicked Yes on the UAC prompt
- Run the installer as Administrator manually if the button doesn't work
- Make sure Windows is fully updated
- Try rebooting your PC and running the installer again
- If it still fails, contact support on Discord
Overlay doesn't appear / black screen
- Make sure DayZ is running in Fullscreen Windowed or Windowed mode (NOT exclusive fullscreen)
- Go to DayZ Settings > Video > Display Mode > set to Fullscreen Window
- Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date
- Verify DirectX 11 is working: press Win+R, type dxdiag, check Display tab for DX11
Cheat closes shortly after launching
- Check your internet connection - the cheat requires a stable connection
- Make sure your firewall isn't blocking outbound HTTPS connections
- If using a VPN, try disabling it temporarily
- Your license may have expired or been revoked - check the Dashboard
"Virtual machine detected"
- The software does not run inside virtual machines (VMware, VirtualBox, Hyper-V, etc.)
- You must run it on bare-metal hardware
- If you're NOT in a VM but getting this error: Disable Hyper-V by opening Command Prompt as Admin and running
bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype offthen restart your PC - Also disable Windows Sandbox and "Virtual Machine Platform" in Windows Features if enabled
Antivirus keeps deleting the files
- Add exclusion for your GHax folder
- Add exclusion for %LOCALAPPDATA% (where temp binaries are created)
- Windows Defender: Settings > Virus & Threat Protection > Exclusions
- If using third-party AV (Kaspersky, Bitdefender, etc.), add process and folder exclusions
Game crashes after launching the cheat
- Make sure you're running the latest version of DayZ (offsets update with game patches)
- Re-download the cheat through the launcher (click PLAY again) to get the latest build
- Verify DayZ game files through Steam: Right-click DayZ > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity
- Close any other overlays (Discord overlay, GeForce Experience, MSI Afterburner)
HWID changed / moved to new PC
- If you changed your PC or made major hardware changes, your license may not activate
- Contact support on Discord for a HWID reset
